How does the Wii Whiteboard work?
When using a Wii Whiteboard, the user holds an Infrared pen in hand and points the Infrared pen at the projected image. At this point, the Infrared pen becomes the user's mouse and can be used in exactly the same. Click the pen's button as you would click a mouse button and interact with whatever software application you choose. For a visual demonstration, click the video above.

Where should I position the Wiimote?
Generally speaking, if a user is right handed, it's best to position the Wiimote to the left of the presentation space as seen in this image. Conversely, left-handed users should position the Wiimote to the right so as not to interfere with the signal.
For more information on Wiimote placement, see this entry on the Smoothboard website or view the image on the right.
