Servicing the Laptop
students_gatheredRemember that IBM's standard warranty terms apply. The warranty does not cover damage due to misuse, accident, modification, unsuitable physical or operating environment, improper maintenance, or failure caused by a product for which IBM is not responsible. Additional charges will apply for non-warranty repairs. The system's battery is covered with a one year warranty. If you do run into trouble here is what you should do:

 



School Days

1.Search this website for tips regarding your problem.

2. Talk to your Site Administrator.  He/she may be able to offer a simple solution to the problem.

3. Ask your Site Administrator to submit a help ticket on your behalf and a Technician from TIS will have a look at your laptop as soon as they're able.

Weekends and Weeknights

Visit IBM's website (www.ibm.ca) or contact their ThinkPad help line at 1-800-565-3344 (in Toronto only call 416-383-3344). Both the website and help line are available 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

TIS Help Desk Days/Hours of Operation

*Open 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday (closed on Fridays during July and August)

*Closed for one hour (12:00 until 1:00) for lunch break

*The Help Desk is generally open over the school holidays but will be closed some days (Christmas Day, New Years Day, etc.) so you should phone them at (905)666-5500 to confirm that they are open.
